Terms of use

These terms explain what Tax Shrink provides, what it does not provide and your responsibilities when using it.

Effective 21 August 2026. Last updated 21 August 2026.

Who publishes Tax Shrink

Tax Shrink is published by Bold Data Ltd. Bold Data Ltd. Company no. 13328783. Registered in England and Wales. Registered office: Elderleigh, Highfield Close, Northwood, England, HA6 1EX. Contact us at tax-shrink@bolddata.biz for legal questions or corrections.

A free planning estimator

Tax Shrink provides free estimates for a common UK limited-company owner-director scenario. It compares salary and dividend combinations using the configured tax rules and the assumptions shown with each result. It can include a user-entered dividend from prior-year distributable reserves but does not verify the accounts, available profits, liquidity or dividend paperwork. Supported regions, tax years and calculation limits are described in the methodology.

The service provides general information, not individual advice. Using it does not create an adviser-client, accountant-client or HMRC-agent relationship. We do not prepare accounts, run payroll, submit filings, confirm dividend legality, give assurance or represent you before HMRC.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for entering accurate figures, confirming any prior-year distributable reserves against the company accounts, selecting the correct tax year and Income Tax region, checking that the supported scenario matches your circumstances, and verifying any figure before acting on it. Confirm material payroll, dividend, accounting and tax decisions with a suitably qualified professional.

Errors, interpretation and availability

Estimates can be wrong because of source, transcription, interpretation, rounding or software errors, later rule changes, or circumstances outside the model. Official guidance can also change. We may correct, qualify, suspend or withdraw a calculation or tax year when we identify a material issue. We do not promise that the service will always be available or that every historic or future tax year will remain supported.

Sources, intellectual property and acceptable use

Official sources are attributed where practical, but their content belongs to their respective publishers. Tax Shrink's design, original text and private source code are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use the service for ordinary personal or internal business planning and share ordinary calculator URLs. You must not interfere with the service, bypass security controls, overload it, misrepresent its output as professional advice, or reproduce a substantial part of it as a competing service without permission.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Subject to those protections, you use the free estimator at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, Bold Data Ltd is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate inputs, use outside the stated scope, failure to verify an estimate, or indirect or consequential business losses. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have.

Corrections and changes to these terms

Report a suspected calculation or content error to tax-shrink@bolddata.biz. Include the page, tax year, region and steps needed to reproduce it, but do not send unnecessary personal information. We may update these terms when the service, law or data handling changes. The date above will show the latest substantive revision.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, which means applicable consumer law may allow you to bring a claim elsewhere.
